Christmas advertising in 1916 (I always need a new sideboard at this time of the year)

I took a peek at the Halifax Courier for 2nd of December 1916 and I was glad to see that one hundred years ago, even with a war on, the average consumer still felt the need to buy a new piece of furniture for Christmas (and have it on credit)! I now feel that my need to frantically finish my house instead of enjoying December is quite a time honoured tradition (no sideboard though). If anyone hasn’t yet seen the scanned World War One issues of the Halifax Courier then do so by going to Weaver to Web.
